Think & Do in Two: Global Storytelling Competition

The Study Abroad Office will be hosting the first ever Global Storytelling Competition at NC State University. Students are encouraged to submit 6 images in a 2 minute PowerPoint presentation. Study abroad students will present images from their experience abroad, while international students are encouraged to share images from their experience here in the U.S.

The finalists will present at the Think and Do in Two: Global Storytelling Competition on Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30 PM in the Stafford Commons. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Please encourage your students to submit an entry to showcase their work or research here at NC State!   Learn more.


International Tea and Coffee

As part of NC State’s International Education Month programming, the OIS, in collaboration with several international student organizations, will host our annual International Tea and Coffee event on Wednesday, November 18th, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. in the Duke Energy Hall in Hunt Library. Sample tea, coffee, and snacks from all over the world! This event is free and  open to all  faculty, staff, students, and members of the NC State community.

 


Passport Fair

Join us for the 12th Annual NC State Passport Fair to get a new passport or renew existing documents on Wednesday, November 18th from 10:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.  Representatives from the Department of State will be on site  to process your passport and passport photos will also be available for a small fee.  If you plan to study abroad or travel internationally, this fair is a great opportunity to get your passport application submitted conveniently on campus in just one stop. The Passport Fair will be held in the Witherspoon Student Center, Washington Sankofa Room 126. It is open to the public, so bring your friends and family!  No appointment necessary.  Processing time is 2-3 weeks.

America Through Our Eyes Photo Contest

The OIS is now accepting photos for the America Through Our Eyes Photo Contest. This contest is a great opportunity for international students and scholars to express their view of America from their travels and experiences. Photos submitted to the contest will be displayed on the Commons Wall in Hunt Library from November 16-30th.
