Update! Travel During COVID-19

International travel during the ongoing global pandemic is complicated by many factors. As policies and circumstances continue to change, it is important to stay informed with up-to-date information:

Effective January 5, 2023, all international air travelers coming into the United States from mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau will be required to show a negative COVID-19 test taken within 2 days before their flight departure. This requirement applies to everyone 2 years of age or older and applies regardless of citizenship or vaccination status.

This new requirement includes people traveling through the following airports who have also been in China in the 10 days before their travel to the United States:

  • Incheon International Airport
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport
  • Vancouver International Airport

If travelers have had COVID-19 in the 90 days before travel to the United States, proof of recovery from COVID-19 will be accepted instead.

Please refer to the CDC website or the requirement press release for more information.

*At this time there is no COVID test requirement for travelers from locations not mentioned above.
