OPT STEM Extension Update

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published new rules regarding the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension benefit. CPT Application Deadline 

The OIS is currently accepting Summer Curricular Practical Training (CPT) applications. The period of employment for a Summer CPT cannot begin earlier than May 8, 2016 and must end no later than August 16, 2016.  Applications for Summer CPT can be submitted until Tuesday, July 5, 2016.  Read More»



Scam Alert!

The OIS has been made aware of a scam involving someone who claims to be an FBI agent who threatens the victims with arrest if fees are not paid.  Please keep in mind that no government agency or agent will call you to demand payment over the phone.   Read More»

New I-20s to be Distributed

The Department of Homeland Security redesigned the Form I-20 last summer, and allowed schools a year to issue the new I-20. All F-1 students must be in possession of the newly formatted I-20 by 7/1/2016.   Read More»

OIS Spring Carnival!

This Friday, April 15th the OIS invites you to join us for our annual Spring Carnival from 4-6 p.m. at The Oval on Centennial. Free snacks, drinks, and games will be provided.
