Join The Council

The International Students Advisory Council(ISAC) is recruiting 7 council members for the academic year 2021-2022. ISAC is a student-led board of 10 council members that works to improve the experience of international students at NC State by providing informed feedback and recommendations to OIS and other campus units towards globally relevant programs, services and policies.

Function of the Council

The International Students Advisory Council serves as:

  • A think tank group to suggest ideas for implementation and provide feedback, not an action group
  • An advocate for international students
  • A liaison between international students and OIS to inform the programs and services offered

Council Member Responsibilities

Council Members serving on the International Students Advisory Council, will be responsible for the following:

  • Attend monthly mandatory meetings with the entire International Students Advisory Council
  • Communicate with other international students, council members and administrators to get information in preparation for monthly council meetings
  • Commit to attending a minimum of ONE internationally-focused on-campus event (I.E Global Tea & Coffee, The International Festival) during each semester they serve as a council member

Council Member Qualifications

To serve as a council member on the International Students Advisory Council, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current degree-seeking International Student
  • Be committed to thinking critically, asking questions, engaging in research and dialogue, and working across cultures
  • Be able to serve for a minimum of one academic year
