In light of the Chancellor’s announcement concerning campus events and meetings due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Office of International Services has cancelled all upcoming Spring 2020 events until further notice. We are working on moving some of our programs virtually and appreciate your patience during this transition.
Breaking Bread is a unique meal hosting program that creates an opportunity for international students to spend time inside an American home and interact with Americans on a cultural level. Community and campus volunteers are matched with our interested international students to share a meal at a time and date convenient for everyone. This is a one time commitment and meals occur all year long, so it is never too late to apply. Please note that an application is required for this program so that we can make the best match possible. Applications can be found on this page or you can contact the OIS Programs Coordinator for more information.
*This is not a homestay program.
PLEASE NOTE: During peak application times, there may be a wait-list for international students applying to this program, but please don’t let that discourage you from applying. We are continuing our efforts to recruit more hosts for the program and it is our goal to match every applicant with a host by the end of each semester. Please be patient with us as it may be several weeks before we are able to find a host for each new international applicant. Thank you for your patience and understanding.Sign Up Here: International Students and Scholars
