Mahmud Hasan, Doctoral Degree in Industrial Engineering

Tell us about yourself.

Mahmud Hasan was born on 10th August 1990 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2013 and subsequently completed his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from NC State University, Raleigh, NC, USA in 2016.

He was an Edward P. Fitts graduate fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State and successfully defended his dissertation in 2020. His research focus is on applied Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Technology for decentralized Cloud Manufacturing platforms.

How was your experience at NC State University?

I joined NC State in the Fall of 2014 as a Masters student. Since then NC State has taught me a lot, helped me make friends and enabled me to be self sufficient and confident. My graduate school years at NC State would remain the most formative years in my life.

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment during your time at NC State?

Graduate school taught me how to be diligent, responsible and farsighted. These are the best accomplishments I would always cherish further down my life.

What are your plans post graduation?

I would be joining as a Machine Learning Engineer in Micron Technology Inc., Boise Idaho.

Be punctual, take actions in time and never give up!
